EXTRACURRICULARS & WORK EXPERIENCE

CLUB SWIM

Joining the club swim team has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my college journey and the first extracurricular I’ve participated in. It’s helped me make incredible friendships and build a supportive community while also improving my physical strength and discipline. Being part of the team has given me the opportunity to travel to different colleges for swim meets, exploring new places along the way. My favorite trip so far has been to Ole Miss in Mississippi, where I not only competed but also enjoyed the excitement of discovering a new environment.

CAFÉ ASSISTANT

Volunteering at Rohs Street Café has been a valuable experience that allowed me to develop essential skills in customer service and communication. Taking orders, coordinating with the barista, and managing tasks like doing the dishes taught me how to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive attitude

RAM (REMOTE AREA MEDICAL)

Being a member of the Remote Area Medical (RAM) club has been an incredibly meaningful experience, allowing me to contribute to providing free medical care for underserved communities. Through RAM, I’ve had the opportunity to volunteer at a temporary clinic hosted by another chapter, where I took on roles such as sterilizing medical tools and assisting with patient registration. These tasks gave me hands-on experience in healthcare operations while reinforcing the importance of teamwork and attention to detail.

LIFEGUARD

Working as a lifeguard at the recreation center was a valuable experience that taught me responsibility and sharpened my skills. Through intense training, including earning my CPR certification, I gained the knowledge and confidence to handle emergency situations effectively. My primary responsibilities included supervising swimmers, assisting co-lifeguards, and providing support to guests. This role enhanced my observation skills and risk assessment abilities, as I constantly monitored for potential hazards to ensure a safe environment. The experience also reinforced the importance of teamwork, quick thinking, and staying calm under pressure, all of which are skills I carry with me today

PATIENT CARE ASSISTANT (UC HEALTH)

Working as a patient care assistant at the hospital has been an incredibly rewarding experience that has deepened my passion for healthcare. In this role, I assist with patient care tasks such as collecting specimens, monitoring vital signs, and supporting patients with their daily needs. This position has enhanced my communication and interpersonal skills as I interact with patients from diverse backgrounds and collaborate with medical staff to provide high-quality care. It has also given me invaluable insight into the healthcare field, reinforcing my commitment to pursuing a career focused on improving the well-being of others
